Last week Cadillac dropped off a shiny new CT6 for us. We got to play around in it for the week, and drive it up to Dallas, TX for the launch party of the new XT5 Crossover.
Here are my 7 reasons you should check it out.
1. Great Car to Work in
My friends and I spent a lot of time finishing up some last minute work on our 3 hour drive to Dallas, and it had everything we needed. The CT6 has very spacious back seats along with in-car Wifi and a 12V outlet to plug your laptop in. If you have one of the higher-end CT6’s you can opt for massaging seats as well to make your work even more comfortable.
2. Great for the Summer
The CT6 comes with remote start, window shades and cooled seats. For those of you living in the southern part of the US, this is amazing. We got in the habit of starting the car 5 minutes before leaving from anywhere, and the car was always refreshingly cool even if it had been sitting in the sun.
3. Stop and Go Traffic?
We rolled into Dallas at the beginning of rush hour, so we came to a complete stop multiple times on the highway. With the adaptive cruise control, I was able to set it to 75 MPH and forget it. The car would adapt to the speed of the car in front of me, even coming to a complete stop when needed. If you commute often – this feature alone could change your life.
4. Parking is Easy
These features are more and more common on cars these days, but the Cadillac CT6 has both the front, rear, and top down cameras. This made parking downtown in tight spaces a breeze.
5. Cadillac’s CT6 Records Everything
No, this doesn’t mean it’s recording everything you do – it’s recording everything the cars around you are doing. This feature uses both the front and rear cameras to constantly record to a memory card you keep in the trunk. I could have used this feature when another driver crashed into my wife after running a red light. We had not proof, so we got stuck with half the bill. This would have prevented that.
6. Amazing Styling
The grill and headlights on the CT6 are gorgeous. Cadillac did a great job of keeping their refined look while updating their image.
7. No More Smudged Screen
Many of the Cadillac’s the feature a large touchscreen to change the setting on the car, radio, climate, etc. This is very easy and intuitive, but it also results in a lot of fingerprints on the screen. The CT6 has solved this by providing a trackpad just in front of the armrest.
Overall I highly recommend checking out the Cadillac CT6 if you’re shopping in the $55 – $85K price range.
