ChefSteps Joule Sous Vide
This little device can give you the ability to cook like a pro, especially when it comes to meat. Want a steak cooked perfectly? Just open the app, and select how you want it to look from the photos. The Joule Sous Vide uses the same technique many restaurants use to make sure their dishes turn out perfectly everytime. There are many Sous Vide cookes out there, but I like this one because it is more powerful than most (meaning it reduces the time you’ll wait on water to warm and you can cook more at a time), it has an amazing app, and it’s small enough to fit in a kitchen drawer. Here’s a couple of dishes I recently made it with: How to Cook a Pork Tenderloin You Can Almost Cut With a Spoon & A Different Take on Thanksgiving Turkey – Sous Vide

YETI Rambler 18oz Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Bottle
Does $29 sound expensive for a vacuum sealed bottle? To me it does. But after I’ve used this bottle almost every day for the last 18 months, I realized it’s worth every penny. I use this for my coffee in the morning, and it keeps it hot through the day. If my coffee is extra hot, I’ve found myself leaving the top off just so it won’t take hours to cool off. It has very few moving parts, so it’s pretty much bulletproof and easy to clean unlike some other’s I’ve tried. My advice? Spend $29 on a to-go coffee container that’s going to last many year, and never think about it again. I received this as a gift, and I’ve used it longer than any other gift I’ve received in a long time.

Hydro Flask Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle
This is my favorite water bottle. At $32, it’s not cheap, but it keeps liquids cool for 24 hours and is going to last. The powder coat makes the outside easy to grip, and the stainless steel inside makes it easy to clean. I’ve used this almost everyday since I received it as a gift in March of 2016, and it looks as new as the day it was given to me.

DJI Mavic Pro
This is one of the smallest, high-end drones you can buy. Unlike some of it’s competitors, the Mavic Pro was meant to be portable. It can fold down to the size of a water bottle to easily fit in your carry on and leave a lot of room to spare. It shoots in stabilized 4k and sports a 27 minute flight time per battery. It has obstacle avoidance, which comes in very handy (we crashed a drone when creating the video of the Lexus RCF… it didn’t have proximity sensors like this one), and it has some very cool features, like the ability to track and record people autonomously.

Nest Cam
Could he use a security camera that just works? The Nest Cam is incredibly easy to set up and has an app so you can view it’s feed from anywhere you have Wifi. It also has tools that allow you to share the feed with other people you trust. We have a Nest Cam, Nest Cam IQ and a Nest Cam Outdoor Security Camera, and absolutely love them. We use one to watch out son as he sleeps, another to watch our front door and notify us when someone is in our front yard (usually someone delivering packages), and another as an indoor security camera when we’re away. There are discounts if you buy multiple, so if you’re going to buy more than one, be sure to take advantage of the discounts.

eero Pro WiFi System (Set of 3 eeros)
The eero Pro Wifi system is like an iPhone, it’s very reliable and just works. I’ve been using this exact system for our Wifi for the last 3 months and couldn’t be happier. We live in a 2-story, 4 bedroom home, and our old wireless router just wasn’t cutting it. We had deadzones in a few really inconvenient areas. We tried an extender, but it was annoying because we would have to select the new Wifi ID every time we wanted to use the extender. We started using the eero system and now we have a strong Wifi signal everywhere, including our entire back yard. Giving an eero system is like giving the gift of reliable internet. It also has a cool app that lets you change settings, let you see what’s using the most bandwidth, and even remotely shutting off internet access to specific devices at specific times (think kids tablets at bedtime or dinner time)

Roku Streaming Stick
Because Amazon is feuding with Google, the Amazon Fire Stick doesn’t play well with Google’s streaming services, and Google’s Chromecast doesn’t let you play videos from Amazon’s offering. Guess which provider works with Netflix, Google and Amazon – Roku. This Roku Streaming Stick plugs into your HDMI port to allow you to watch all of your streaming channels. Another feature Roku offers is that you can play the audio from whatever you’re watching on headphones that are connected to your phone. This comes in especially useful when you want to get the full experience from an action movie without waking everyone in the house. This Roku only supports up to 1080p, so if you’re looking for one with 4k, you’ll want to buy this one instead.

Anker 20000mAh Portable Charger
There are a million different portable batteries you can buy to recharge your devices on the go, so why should you buy this one? It’s small enough to throw in a bag (6.5″ x 2.3″ x 0.9in”), has enough power to recharge an iPhone 7 almost seven times, and gets 4.5 stars out of over 11,000 reviews!

Nespresso Aeroccino Milk Frother
Do you want to adorn your cappuccino with some godly frothy milk foam like they do at your favorite coffee shop? Well with this little contraction you just add milk, press a button and voila. My wife is obsesses with this thing and uses it daily. Usually there’s a downside with devices like this, and it’s usually a lengthy cleaning process…not with this. The inside is covered in a nonstick surface, and it uses a magnet to crate the foam, so cleanup is quick and easy. If hot milk foam isn’t your think, just hold the button for an extra second and it’ll whip up some cold milk foam as well. Pro-tip: use whole milk for a much thicker and creamy foam.

Wireless Remote Control Electrical Outlet Switch
This isn’t the most exciting gift to give, but it could definitely be one of the most useful. For people who live in older homes or those that use multiple lamps in a room, it can be frustratingly and time consuming to walk around and turn each on and off when ever you enter or leave a room. This switch allows you to plug in each device you want to control, and now you can turn it on and off from a single remote. I like this on in particular because it allows you to pair multiple devices to a single button, so you can walk into a room and turn on 5 different lamps or devices with a single button. At $11 per switch, it’s a lot cheaper than a lot of other smart home devices and doesn’t require the use of a phone app. If you’re buying this for someone who is especially bad with technology, you can try this one instead that doesn’t require any pairing with the remote and gives you 3 switches for $20.
