If you have kids and you aren’t having date nights – it’s time to start. Before having kids, my wife and I were much more spontaneous. We didn’t need date nights, because they would naturally happen all the time.
We still have our impromptu nights out, but date nights make sure that even when we’ve busy, we need to make time for each other and relax.
So – how does ridesharing make date night better?
No Parking
A lot of the places we go to on date nights are in downtown Austin. Your parking options are either to pay $8 for a garage – if available – or drive around for 15 minutes looking for street parking. Nothing kills the mood like finishing your 5th lap around 6th Street looking for a spot.
Stop Counting Drinks
We like to have a good time when we’re out and that sometimes involves having a drink. By using a rideshare, we both can have a drink and not worry about the drive home.
Jump Around
Just because you planned the day of your date, doesn’t mean the night has to follow a script. Some of the best times we’ve had were when we were spontaneously jumped off course. With Fare, our favorite rideshare, we order a car and it’s there in minutes.
Why Do We Like FARE So Much?
Schedule Your Pickup: Most other rideshares don’t let you schedule your pickup ahead of time.
Choose Your Driver: Once you have some drivers you like, you can keep requesting them.
Fingerprint Checks: If safety is a concern, Fare has great background checks including driver fingerprints.

So what are you waiting for? Plan a date night!
Here are some events coming this month to get you started.
ACL Music Festival – (Sept 30 – Oct 2)
Not a date night, but a great time if you haven’t been.
Pecan Street Festival – (Sept 24 – 25)
Grab some dinner at your favorite restaurant and then head over to the festival for live music and local & national artisan creation.I’d highly recommend getting a FARE, because parking can be a nightmare.
Banger’s Oktoberfest – (Oct 13 – 16)
This is one of Austin’s biggest Oktoberfest celebrations and it spans 4 days.
This post was sponsored by FARE – all thoughts are my own.

Oooh ride sharing is a thing in bigger cities, and I did it when I visited my family in LA. I like the idea, as long as you don’t end up taking a 2 hour detour! Adaleta Avdic
