There are a ton of fantastic business apps out there, but with everyone building an app these days, it can be time consuming to sort through them. I use a lot of different apps on a daily basis for our businesses, so I’ve created a list of the top 8 business apps I’ve found that make running a business much easier
1. Evernote
Useful For: Notes, Lists, Reminders
Cost: Free
How Often I Use It: Multiple Times Per Day
This app is the equivalent of having every note you’ve ever written organized and searchable on your phone. Yep, it’s that good. This app lets you create notebooks where you can store almost anything. I use it to create tasks lists for my weeks, ideas, marketing plans, etc. It automatically backs up everything you do and syncs it on up to two devices for free.
2. Google Drive
Useful For: Storing Info You Need Often, Spreadsheets
Cost: Free
How Often I Use It: 3-4 Times Per Week
If you’re not using this yet, you’re missing out. In addition to being a replacement for Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) it automatically backs everything up, lets you collaborate and share document with other people, and can be used on your phone. I use this for financial projections, storing company documents that I can’t lose, and sharing design files to collaborate with my team.
3. LastPass
Useful For: Storing Passwords Securely
Cost: Free
How Often I Use It: Multiple Times Per Day
I love this app, and would be lost without it at this point. It securely stores all your passwords and can sync them between your computer and phone. I used to use a variation of a single password, because I knew I wouldn’t remember a different password for every website. LastPass allows me to use different passwords for everything, and I DON’T HAVE TO REMEMBER ANY OF THEM! If I’m logged into LastPass it automatically fills them in or lets me chose which username I want to be logged in with. This app is a MASSIVE time saver.
4. DocuSign
Useful For: Storing Passwords Securely
Cost: Free
How Often I Use It: 2-3 Times Per Week
This app lets you sign, fill in information, and email contracts or forms. Printing those types of things, manually signing, then scanning them back into to send takes too much time. I can get a contract, enter info, and sign in under a few minutes.
5. Hours Tracker
Useful For: Tracking Hours
Cost: Free
How Often I Use It: 2-3 Times Per Week
This app helps to track hours. I use it when I’m doing consulting work for clients. I like it because it’s really simple, has an intuitive user interface and has an easy export option. It’s free to use until you add more than a few clients.
